This is our Detail Carbide Chisel, available in 3 sizes.

The Standard chisel at the top of the picture has a 14 inch handle and a 6 inch 10mm Square bar.

The Short Handle chisel in the middle of the picture, has a 9 inch handle and a 6 inch 10mm Square bar.

The Pen Turning chisel at the bottom of the picture, has a 9 inch handle and a 4 inch 10mm Square bar.

Our Detail chisel. Wow, what a chisel! So many people think, this is just for making lines and grooves in your work. That could not be further from the truth. Once again, as with all my other tools, this chisel has been designed and made to make full use of the bevel. Even though the tip of this cutter only has a very small bevel, it is still the bevel. When used correctly as shown in all my YouTube videos, this tool is transformed from what can be a catchy, grabby, sometimes dangerous tool when used just pushed in flat, into something that is a pure joy to use. Fantastic for turning finials, turning beads, for making your tenons and recesses and for finishing the bottoms of bowls and pots when used with a bevel controlled push cut.

For me, this is one of the best tools for shear cutting the outside of bowls. It will totally eliminate any torn grain, tool marks, even on the punkiest of woods. All of which, can be seen on my YouTube videos.

Of couse if you want to use these tools as Scrapers, making simple plunge cuts, then they are more than capable of doing that too.
